Surf and Turf   
"The Surf Is Now Up" means casual alfresco dining, drinking and surfin' oldies, but goodies, performed by The Surftones - all happening on the Palm Terrace Patio.  Executive Chef Bill Bracken has created a just-what-you-were-yearning-for Chilled Surf-and-Grilled Turf menu. The Chilled Surf includes: Chilled Prawns, Lobster & Crab Claws; and Seared Ahi Tuna. The Grilled Turf features: Prime New York Steak; Lamb Chops; and Chicken Thighs. The Sweet Stuff features: S'Mores Made to Order.

About The Surftones: Been bringing the greatest hits of the early 60s to West Coast music lovers for over 27 years - from British Invasion to Motown to Psychedelic; and of course California Surf all-time favs by The Beach Boys, The Safaris, The Ventures, The Chantays, The Belairs, and Dick Dale & The Deltones.

"The Surf Is Now Up" experience is $69 per person.  Every Friday night from 6 p.m., now through Friday, August 29, 2008.

Jimmy Hopper - Palm Terrace Lounge
Back by popular demand, the irrepressible Jimmy Hopper returned to the Island Hotel Newport Beach on Wednesday, June 18, bringing his dynamic vocals and rocking three-piece band to the property's plush Palm Terrace Lounge. The nattily attired Hopper - with his trademark white spiked hair, incredible four octave range and eclectic musical repertoire - is sure to draw standing-only room crowds during this latest Orange County run. Jimmy Hopper performs "unplugged" on Wednesdays from 8 to 10 p.m.; and on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 p.m. to midnight with his dynamic trio. Cocktails and small bites are served daily at Palm Terrace Lounge, from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Burgers & Beer
Chef Bill Bracken now has five mouth-watering sliders to wash down with one of the fine beers at Palm Terrace Lounge: Prime Beef Sliders Au Poivre with Tillamook Cheddar and Grilled Onions; Chicken and Truffle Sliders on a Pretzel Bun with Oven-Dried Tomato Aioli; Turkey and Artichoke with Arugula Pesto and Feta Cheese; Ginger Shrimp Sliders with Asian Slaw on a Ciabatta Bun; and Rays Favorite Meatball Slider with Grated Reggiano and Pomodoro Sauce. Sliders are 2 for $5 with choice of beer. All draft beers are $5. Tuesdays at Palm Terrace Lounge.

Pinot & Pizza
Join us for a unique Pizza & Pinot Menu featuring four specialty pizzas created by Chef Bill Bracken, all to be paired with your choice of six fine Pinot Noir by-the-glass, ranging from California to French Burgundy to high-end Oregon selections. Wednesdays Only in the Palm Terrace Lounge.

Wine Wednesdays at Palm Terrace Restaurant
Been eyeing that bottle of Opus One or dreaming about that $400 Caymus Vineyards Special Selection Cab? Every Wednesday evening is the time to fulfill dreams of savoring those finer wines. Sip your choice from Palm Terrace Restaurant’s extensive wine list at half the usual price for each bottle while dining on Executive Chef Bill Bracken’s delicious, innovative American cuisine in the relaxed, convivial ambiance of this Pacific coast dining room. Tacos & Tequila
Palm Terrace Lounge heads south of the border with a selection of tantalizing tequila concoctions, such as La Isla Bonita with Patron Silver, Chambord, Triple Sec, lime juice and pineapple juice ($9); and delectable tacos with the finest fillings, such as Ahi Tuna, Maine Lobster, Smoked Duck and Beef Tenderloin. All tacos are 2 for $5 with choice of tequila cocktail. Thursdays at Palm Terrace Lounge.
